RECOVERY
- If it appears
you are stuck, stop spinning the wheels because each unnecessary rotation
of the wheels will dig you in deeper.
- Check first,
if any part of the vehicle's weight is resting on anything other than
the wheels. If that is the case correct this first.
- If you get stuck
in sand, dig out the area around the wheels. Work on the wheel first
that is halting progress. You could use floor mats under the wheels
for traction if you don't have the right equipment with you. Also
dampening the sand in front of the wheels will help compact it for
better traction.
- Make sure that
all the wheels have a clear path ahead of them before driving out
because failure means that all of the work will have to be redone.
- Attempt to drive
the vehicle out by "rocking" and forth.
- If you are stuck
in mud, use rocks or logs to provide a firm base once you have dug
out under the wheels.
- It is not recommended
to use front fitted bull bars or rear towbars as anchorage points.
Use the provided tow lugs located on the front and rear of the vehicle.
Refer owners manual for lug positioning.
- Always try to
adapt your equipment to your needs! It often can be used in more ways
than one.
